Fourth World by Lyssa Chiavari was absolutely fantastic! Imagine a time when in the distant past when Mars is teeming with life and contrast that with the Mars of today, where it has only just begun to be colonized by mankind. All Isaak wants to do is finish Academy and finally get everyone off his back. Ever since the disappearance of his father, everything has been different. When Isaak sees something on a school field trip and tries to get a closer look, it starts a new adventure fraught with a secret governmental agency known as GSAF and a crazy factory worker all of which leads towards his arrival right outside the gates of Iamos.
Meanwhile in the past, Nadin is a girl that wants to do what is best for her people. Raised her entire life to be a leader, she is stunned when a strange boy named Isaak arrives. As time begins to run out, will Nadin and Isaak be able to save her people? Or will both of their respective leaders stop them.
I had an extremely difficult time placing this book down. The characters were deep and engaging, aside from a few characters I did not care for, I found Fourth World to be a great start to the upcoming Iamos trilogy and look forward to reading more. 5/5 red planets for a simply fantastic story!
I received this book for free from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
