Gyre is the first book in the Atlas Link Series by Jessica Gunn. If you enjoy ideas of the mythical city of Atlantis, this book is a must read. Gyre is the story of Chelsea who in the middle of a horrible night accidentally teleports aboard a vessel that no one should know of. There she sees Trevor, the boy that helped her fight off an attacker. After a rough start, Chelsea is eventually offered an internship aboard SeaSat5, a secure Navy vessel, to be an in house archaeologist while she learns to use her new powers. Unfortunately for Chelsea, she has unknowingly stumbled into the middle of an ancient feud. Meanwhile Trevor, another main character in our story is trying to run away from anything to do with the war between Lemuria and Atlantis. Unfortunately with his parents Lemurian leaders, that will not be easy.
If you enjoy history and fantasy, this is the perfect book for you. I found myself quite intrigued by Gyre. Chelsea is a character that is easy to relate to. I already am eager for the second book in the series. I am giving Gyre 5/5 Atlas Links for a book that I had a hard time putting down.
I received this book for free from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
