Forever Doon

Forever Doon by Carie Corp and Lorie Langdon is the fourth and final book in the Doon series. If you have not read the previous three books, be sure to read those prior to the final chapter. The finale was great, but the ending definitely on the abrupt side. I guess whenever a series ends, I always want more closure. In fact, I always feel that the pace of the book is so measured out and then at the end it abruptly ends before I am ready to say goodbye! That is how I know the mark of a good book, I never want to place it down. Mackenna and Duncan, Veronica and Jamie are just two couples I have enjoyed seeing the progression of during the Doon series. Doon is a land where time advances more slowly than on Earth due to the blessing of the Protector (God). In Forever Doon we pick up where Shades of Doon left off. With Prince Jamie feared dead and Prince Duncan and Mackenna (Kenna) stuck on Earth, Queen Veronica (Vee) has never felt more alone. It seems that the evil witch, Addie, has won. Luckily for Vee, she is not alone, and the Protector has not forgotten her. It is time to fight and vanquish Addie once and for all. This final sojourn in to Doon includes the most daring battle yet.

If you enjoyed the previous books, you will like the conclusion. I would just say my only suggestion would have been to lengthen the ending and not rush through it. After all, we’ve grown to love these characters over 4 books. My only consolation is there seems to be an opening for some short novella returns to Doon around some ancillary characters that may give more closure. For a great story that is good for teens and adults alike I am giving Forever Doon 5/5 stars.

I received this book for free from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
